Yep, that's a popular response I get from OSX people: if Apple can't do something, that's because "you don't need it".


If someone sent me an email with an ftp:// link I'd assume it was an old email and had been delayed in delivery by 10 years.

The only use for ftp is to make uploading stuff to public places easier than http. Apart from that it's useless and redundant like telnet.


Actually, OSX people can deal with ftp:// urls just fine. That does not make using them any less stupid though.
