i left a comment here the other day telling this: bought a airdots (wireless earbuds), seller sent me fake ones, when questioned about it said the guy who posted the product got the real ones and sent fake ones instead. i left a review describing this purchase experience and my review weren't approved.

That's expected. Product reviews must be about the product in the listing, and you didn't actually receive it so you can't reasonably review it.

Product reviews are not seller-specific so fulfillment issues cannot be described there as they do not apply to all sellers. Seller issues can be posted in seller feedback, instead, which affects seller rating.

IOW, the product reviews must be something that the manufacturer did well/poorly and thus apply to all buyers, regardless of who is the seller.

what are you talking about? i bought a wireless earbuds and I received fake ones. How come a review warning other buyers about that seller is not relevant? Again, I received the product but it was knockoff. Probably a scam. If I hadn't open a dispute I would've paid full price for a cheap product.

The review you post against a product would apply to all sellers, not just the one you tried to buy one from.

That's why the separate seller-specific ratings exist for seller-specific issues.
