I had an Altavista account until they closed their email service. So, I need a reliable provider that wont be swallowed up by a bigger company and change my email address.
I'm not sure about the "more professional" comment - [email protected] looks fine to my eyes. Regardless, lots more useful shorter domains than that are available - for example, mohene.{com,net,org} all appear to be available.
The username part matters a lot more than the domain. [email protected] isn't a particularly professional email, even if it does have a well known domain.
