Why reinvent the wheel when XEP-0277 (http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0277.html) and OStatus (http://ostatus.org/sites/default/files/ostatus-1.0-draft-2-s...) have already accreted quite a bit of thinking about what open microblogging could be ?
