As the author of a public transit iOS/Android app, these kinds of improvements to Google Maps both excite me (from a "that's cool" perspective) and worry me (from a business perspective) at the same time.
Real-time data is an area Google haven't pushed too hard into at this time (despite developing the GTFS-RealTime standard), so that has been an easy way for me to differentiate from Google Maps.
